Tuesday 18th October 2005 Dear Friend, It's a really exciting period here at InnerRhythm: we've got a new society opening in Southampton this month, a new website being built and to be launched very soon, a new newsletter style to complement the website, and I've seen my clients really working well at their peak! This month, I've got a few openings in my coaching programme and am also feeling inclined to offer the subscribers of this newsletter just 5 half hour consultancy sessions for around 50% of the normal fee. Also, I'll chuck in a free membership to Rhythm Cafe for you! There's more below, so get in first!
This edition looks at promoting gigs online. If you enjoy this newsletter, please feel free to forward it on to your friends, colleagues and family. All the best, Kavit | Promoting Gigs Online |
Of course, as musicians, we love gigs! What we're also aware of is the two major obstacles in the way of actually getting up there and performing. The first is actually getting the gig. We'd go to most extents to speak with venue managers, artist managers, booking agents and many other music industry individuals who'll point us in the right direction and help us get the gigs we desire. Without their help, our main love, and source of income too, isn't always as good as it could be. Whilst we are aware of that, the second important part is to promote the gig so that we can get as many people as we can, in the time we have, to come to the gig. In some cases, that'll also depict how much you make from the night. Promoting gigs involves working with the media, and trying to get your gig in the paper, announced on radio, and even advertised on television. Promoting gigs can also mean money spent on flyers and distribution in the area, regionally and perhaps even nationally. It could even mean working hours just to get all that done. Promoting gigs can be tiring if you've got to do it on your own, especially when you've got to juggle getting further gigs, fitting in rehearsals and personal practice time, and of course, if you've got a part time job or other activities on your hand.
No doubt, a lot of time is still involved in this, and with a new service that we offer called PromoteMyGig.com, a free gig submission service to many websites in just one go. It's real simple. Fill in your gig information, send it off, and for free we'll submit your gig to five top websites where you're gig will be able to reach over 50,000 people very easily. And you have the added benefit, that if they don't come to your gig, at least they've heard about you and you've got promotion there too. We can submit too even more websites in just one click if for a small fee, and these details are available at the website www.PromoteMyGig.com Websites we submit to include National Gig Guide, Artistopia, AllGigs, Gigs-Unlimited, and much more, including specific websites dedicated to your local area. Remember, you can check this out here: http://www.PromoteMyGig.com | Opportunity: Looking for DJ/Presenters |
ExtraPlay.com is run by my good friend and producer Nicholas Cope. The website is fantastic, and its worth taking a look if you haven't already. They also run a web radio. They are currently looking for radio DJs/presenters on a voluntary basis and you don't need to be experienced. In return, you'll get good promotion for your music. Once you are set up, all you need to do is present one or two hours of new music each week. If you are interested, please visit http://www.ExtraPlay.com and contact Nicholas. | Paul's Working For The BBC |
I feel privileged to know Paul, and would like to mention Paul's upcoming work with the BBC. He has been asked to create the music for an upcoming TV program so keep an eye out! Paul says, "I've been doing session work in this area, TV, Film etc, for some time and having returned to UK after living in Mexico for 4 years, it is just nice to be asked to do this kind of work again!" You can learn more about Paul at http://www.redgoldmusic.com | Spaces in my Coaching Programme |
This month, I've got a few spaces in my music coaching programme and would like to offer them first to the readers of this newsletter. Not only am I offering them here first, I'd like to offer you your first session of 25 minutes for just £20. Normally, I'd charge £35. Also, what I'll do for you is chuck in a free lifetime membership to Rhythm Café! The coaching session can be highly beneficial for you if you would like to move forward dramatically in your life to achieve your desired results. It could be to do with your personal or professional life and I invite you to contact me to discuss exactly what you want. I'm going to run this on a first come first serve basis to keep it fair, so if this is something that interests you and you feel its the right time to step up to the next level, please get in touch with me and don't wait any longer. |
