Random Acts Of Kindness
Being random is so much fun. It allows you to be outrageously playful when you can, relieving yourself from stress and being really grateful for everything you can. Now when you're being random, how about making it extra special by doing something kind for someone else, even if it's just picking up something they dropped.
Here's one of my favourite random acts: I was walking home one afternoon from a lovely day out and an elderly lady was taking some of her shopping out of the car booth. I went over and helped her and the smile on her face said it all! I plucked a flower from the plant nearby and gave it to her! She invited me in for milk and biscuits but I had to decline (I was now running late!). Thank you Aunt Jo! I now pop in every week on the way home to say hello and it's such an amazing sight and feeling!
I want you to just visualise yourself getting the shopping out of the car booth. You've got a lot, it's a little heavy and no help at all. You see a young boy striding down the road and he comes up to you. His warmth overwhelms you and the next thing you know is that he's helping you take your shopping out of the car! How does it make you feel? Bring those feelings forward?
What a pleasant feeling it is to have somebody be so kind and helpful? Relive those moments. What can you hear? What can you smell? What do you feel? Just imagine if you did something like that for someone else? They would feel amazing, or even more, you'd feel great!
Next time you're having fun, why not bring in a lovely RANDOM act of kindness. It doesn't have to be big. It doesn't have to be small. Here are ten of my favourite ideas...
